Villa Star shares what he found strange at Aston Villa recently and how it has to stop

Aston Villa host Nottingham Forest on Saturday, looking to cement their place within the Premier League’s top four.

John McGinn claims he spoke to Celtic players about manager

Tottenham’s defeat to Wolverhampton saw Unai Emery’s side return to the Champions League rankings after a stunning 2-1 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Despite Villa’s great league position, Emery’s side has lost three consecutive home games, while Newcastle United, Chelsea, and Manchester United have all enjoyed excursions to the West Midlands.

John McGinn, speaking before of the match against Nuno Espirito Santo’s club, has highlighted Villa’s troubling home form.

John McGinn addresses Aston Villa’s ‘strange’ home form

In an interview with Villa’s official website, the 29-year-old stated that the “strange” home results must be removed.

“They’re a very good team full of talented players, with a coach who’s well-respected in the league,” he added.

“They have their own struggle going on. They’ll come to make it difficult for us to get the three points that they really need.

“We need to get back on the horse at home and resume our run. We need to rebuild Villa Park as a fortress.

“Consecutive defeats at home is strange for us and something we need to eradicate quickly.”

He added: “There have been many doubts about our away form this season, and we have now found a solution.

“The run we did at Villa Park was fantastic, and it was a nice location to be for everyone.

“If we can perform on the pitch, there’s no reason we can’t go on a run like before and win 15 or 16 in a row.”

Aston Villa can capitalise on Tottenham absence

With Tottenham not playing this weekend, Aston Villa has a good opportunity to put some distance between themselves and some of their opponents.

In reality, these are the types of games that must be won in order to achieve a top-four finish.

Regarding McGinn’s words, Villa must improve their current home form. Their performances at Villa Park have generally been excellent.

And a third consecutive Premier League home defeat should not be on the schedule this Saturday.

McGinn’s form has been tremendous, and the Scot helped to soften the pain of Boubacar Kamara’s injury with an outstanding display in West London last Saturday.
