However, it is believed that the Wearside club will seek a fee of approximately £20 million for the Championship hero.

Clarke keen to quit Sunderland – West Ham, Crystal Palace and Southampton all keen

According to sources, Sunderland’s only hope of retaining its top players is to secure promotion to the Premier League.

According to a reliable source, Clarke is hoping that Sunderland’s demands do not stymie a future return to the Premier League or possibly a first excursion into European football.

In January, Serie A club Lazio reportedly bid £14 million for the winger, but Sunderland elected to keep him at the Stadium of Light.

Football Insider stated on Monday (19 February) that West Ham are keeping a close eye on the ex-Tottenham player.

Crystal Palace and Southampton are also reportedly interested in the 23-year-old.

The race for Clarke’s signature is heating up given his performance in the 2023-24 season thus far.

He has 15 goals and four assists in 35 games across all competitions this season.

After failing to make an impression at Tottenham, the former England Under-20 star moved to Sunderland on an initial loan in January 2022.

In other news, Championship clubs are lining up a flurry of big-money summer transfers.
