Texas Longhorns football send 2-word message to players’ dominance at 2024 NFL Combine

Texas players attended the NFL Combine.

A way-too-early look at Texas' 2022 football schedule

The NFL Combine was bustling on Saturday with athletes from all over college football, and Texas football had one of the best showings. Xavier Worthy had a fantastic day and stole the show by running the 40-yard sprint in 4.21 seconds, breaking the all-time NFL Combine record. Other Longhorns who had strong performances included Adonai Mitchell, Ja’Tavion Sanders, and Kelian Robinson.

Texas football players’ NFL Draft prospects rose significantly on Saturday, which was not surprising. There’s a reason why the Longhorns advanced to the College Football Playoff. The Texas football Twitter account had a brief and sweet reaction to its stars’ appearance.

Right now, Texas has it made. The Longhorns have a fair number of players competing at the NFL Combine, but they also have a lot of quality returning from last year’s team, and they are projected to be a national title contender again next season. It’s pretty special to lose that kind of skill and yet be set up for success the next year.

The NFL Draft is less than two months away, and the Longhorns that showed up on Saturday should have their names called. We’ll have to wait and see where they all wind up, but whichever NFL team signs these players will most certainly be pleased with their pick. They played well at Texas, at the combine, and are projected to perform well in the NFL.
