Misdemeanor charges against Vikings lineman Oli Udoh dismissed - ESPN

The veteran quarterback, who was sacked 31 times in his first season with New Orleans, will get more help this season.

According to Ari Meirov, the organization plans to sign experienced offensive tackle Oli Udoh on a one-year agreement.

The Vikings selected Udoh in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL draft.

He played college football at Elon before joining Minnesota for the next five seasons.

Udoh spent the majority of last season on the injured reserve list after sustaining an injury in the Vikings’ second game.

A torn quadriceps tendon forced the 6’6″ tackle to miss the rest of the season.

Udoh has faced several legal troubles in the last 18 months.

Udoh was charged with resisting arrest in October 2022, but the charges were eventually withdrawn.

St. Paul police cited Udoh for reckless driving in May 2023 after he was caught traveling at 97 mph in a 55-mph zone.

These citations, as well as a third, less serious charge, did not result in jail time for the offensive lineman.

The New Orleans offensive line was one of the strongest in the NFL in 2023, allowing only 35 sacks in 17 games.

With Udoh’s arrival, the Saints now have an athlete who has started 18 career games and has the potential to be a long-term answer.
