Will Caleb Williams be the first pick?

Robert Griffin III, the former NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and Heisman Trophy winner, has given rookie quarterback Caleb Williams some questionable advice.

Williams is the hot frontrunner to be the first-overall choice in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Chicago Bears dealt quarterback Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers, shortening those odds.

At the combine, Williams told reporters that being the first choice would be his goal.

However, Griffin sees the issue differently. The former second-round pick stated, “Caleb Williams should pull an Eli Manning and demand that the Chicago Bears do not draft him.”

Griffin is referring to the 2004 NFL Draft, when Eli Manning and his advisors advised the San Diego Chargers not to select him with the first pick.

Griffin added, “After everything that happened to Justin Fields, can Caleb Williams be assured that the Bears are the proper fit for him?

“Caleb Williams has stated that he wants to be legendary and rewrite history. Is this going to happen in Chicago? Fields was selected 11th overall by the Bears and then reclassified as a sixth-round pick.

Griffin further increased the heat on Chicago’s head coach and general manager, stating, “GM Ryan Poles and head coach Matt Eberflus are in a lame-duck season.” “They have to win this year or they’re out.”

Griffin, 34, also indicated which team he would like Williams to join: “Yes, I believe Caleb moving to Washington would be a good fit. He’s a DC boy from Washington. Washington is the finest fit for him.”
