Latest Update: New York Giants Just Confirm Signing Another Top Sensational Star From NFL

Matt Nelson, an offensive tackle for the New York Giants, has agreed to terms, subject to a physical.

The 6-foot-7, 315-pound native of Iowa played his first four seasons as a converted defensive lineman with the Lions, making 14 starts in 43 games. Nelson played in all 16 games in 2020 after spending 2019 as an undrafted rookie on the practice squad. The following season, he recorded a career-high 11 starts.

Last season, Nelson played right tackle for Detroit for the first two weeks of the season before being placed on injured reserve due to an ankle injury. Nelson has started 14 games overall, 12 of them at right tackle. The additional two were used as offensive linemen.

Nelson played defensive end for the Hawkeyes during his entire college career, making 52 appearances (33 starts). He was selected the Iowa Comeback Player of the Year and Honorable Mention All-Big Ten in his final season. In addition, Nelson was a four-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and the recipient of the Defense Team Hustle Award.
