Latest Update: Just In New Orleans Saints Are Set To Confirm The Signing Of Another Top Experienced Superstar Player From NFL

The New Orleans Saints have done a fantastic job of holding onto some important depth players over the past few days despite losing a few defensive backs early in the free agency process. The Saints re-signed Ugo Amadi first, and then they signed seasoned safety Jonathan Abram for an additional year.

With the Saints, Abram has found some consistency as he gets ready for his sixth season in the NFL. The Raiders selected him in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and he spent two seasons playing for them before being cut midway through his third season. He thus spent time with the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers.

After being cut from his first 2023 free agency signing with New Orleans, he re-signed to the practice squad following training camp. Nevertheless, he finally returned to the active roster and finished the season with some strong play. In addition to starting the final two games of the season, Jonathan Abram finished with 26 tackles, one for a loss, one forced fumble, and one interception. He will now be looking to carry that energy into the upcoming season with the Saints.

Saints tender their resignation. Jonathan Abram
Abram plays in a defensive back group that is a little thin overall. Jordan Howden and Tyrann Mathieu are the current starting safeties on the roster. The two reserves are Amadi and Abram, and J.T. Gray is still available. Paulson Adebo and Marshon Lattimore remain the top two players at the corner. The backup cornerbacks are Alontae Taylor, Rejzohn Wright, and Faion Hicks.

Although there have been whispers of a Lattimore trade, nothing concrete has been announced. New Orleans should have a strong secondary next season if Lattimore stays with the Saints. Without a doubt, the team will add a couple more players via free agency and the draft.
