Breaking News: Just In New Orleans Saints Are Set To Agree $160 Million For Top Experienced QB

In the midst of his current contract dispute with the Dallas Cowboys, Dak Prescott is being linked to the Seattle Seahawks as a possible destination. The New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Rams are the two teams that CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin ranks as making the most sense for Prescott, with the Seahawks coming in third.

“Knowing incumbent No. 1 Geno Smith may or may not stick around for the long haul, Seattle clearly went for new backup Sam Howell because of his long-term upside,” Benjamin wrote in a March 26, 2024 story titled, “Dak Prescott could play out contract year: What it means, plus five early 2025 landing spots for Cowboys QB.” “GM John Schneider isn’t guaranteed to select No. 16 overall in the draft and land a top talent either.

But it’s likely that Seattle will look into the quarterback market once more in the upcoming offseason, as neither Smith nor Howell are guaranteed to be around until 2024. A partnership with Prescott may be enticing for both parties if new coach Mike Macdonald gets the defense back on track, particularly if weapons like DK Metcalf are still operating at peak efficiency.

Cowboys Rumor: In 2025, Dak Prescott May Enter NFL Free Agency

Prescott has a four-year, $160 million contract that is about to expire. The Cowboys are willing to let Prescott play out the remaining games on his current contract without offering him an extension, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Prescott might become a free agent in 2025 as a result, and he could sign with the Seahawks or any other team of his choice. Prescott’s contract has no-trade and no-franchise tag clauses.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said in a series of messages on X on March 26 that “the Cowboys and QB Dak Prescott have a mutual understanding of his contract situation, sources say, with no offers from Dallas despite him being in a contract year.” “We are where we are, locked and loaded for this year,” stated Jerry Jones, the owner.

“No signs that an agreement is imminent. It seems that Dak Prescott will be able to test out free agency in 2025 thanks to this.
