Latest News: Portsmouth owners Tornante’s redevelopment of £12m Fratton Park nearly on a completion

Tornante spent an additional £6.7 million on renovating Fratton Park and Pompey’s training facilities, according to the most recent records.

The Blues have submitted accounts with Companies House for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023.

These documents show the degree of the owners’ continuous financial commitment to the £12 million Fratton Park rehabilitation project.

A additional £5.3 million was spent on stadium improvements over the course of the year, including the renovation of the South Stand and Milton End.

In addition, £1.4 million had been set aside for the refurbishment and upgrading of Pompey Hilsea’s training ground.

That includes more work at the Pompey Health & Fitness Club, which was purchased in June 2021 as part of the £3 million sale for the Copnor Road complex.

In addition to modernizing the gym and swimming pool facilities, work has been done to upgrade the Blues players’ training rooms, renovate the dining room area, and prepare the groundwork for the team’s summer migration from the Portakabins.

The accounts also include a guarantee for additional capital commitments of £3.17 million beyond June 30, 2023.

That cash is set aside for “the completion of the major stadium works development of the Fratton Park stadium, which began in June 2021, and further works on the Pompey Health & Fitness Club training complex.”

at terms of Fratton Park, Milton End development has been underway this season, as has the installation of safe standing at Fratton End. Furthermore, a new TV gantry is set to be built in the South Stand this summer.

According to the previous year’s reports, £4.99 million was spent on Fratton Park’s improvement in the first 12 months, with an initial concentration on the North Stand.

Pompey’s latest records indicate a £3.09 million deficit, marking the third consecutive season of deficits.
