Austin Jordan, a defensive back, was one of them, although he won’t be traveling far to reach his new location.

Jordan has committed to the TCU Horned Frogs, according to reports from On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He will play for head coach Sonny Dykes in the Big 12 in 2024.

Jordan had an interception during the season-opening victory over Rice at Texas, where he recorded 11 total stops. In a 26-16 victory over Iowa State on November 18, he also returned a blocked PAT for a two-point conversion. This was a crucial score in a game the Longhorns needed to win to qualify for the College Football Playoffs.

Jordan, a native of Denton, Texas, received 20 offers as a prospect and decided to attend the Longhorns over offers from schools like Oklahoma, Ohio State, Auburn, Miami, and Notre Dame. He was ranked No. 256 in the nation, No. 21 among safety, and No. 41 among players in the state of Texas by 247Sports.

This summer, a number of other prominent Longhorns, including linebacker Kendrick Blackshire, running back Savion Red, and cornerback Terrance Brooks, have also entered the transfer portal.
