James Lynch, a defensive lineman, returns to the Vikings
The Vikings signed James Lynch back as a free agent after he missed the previous campaign due to a knee injury. Lynch was selected in the fourth round by the team in 2020.
In 2021, James Lynch recorded one of his two career sacks against Sam Darnold. Darnold and Lynch are now Vikings teammates.
James Lynch, a defensive lineman, signed as a free agent on Tuesday to rejoin the Vikings after missing the previous campaign due to a knee injury.

In 2020, Lynch was selected by the Vikings in the fourth round out of Baylor. He made 37 appearances, three of which were starts. In addition to two sacks and a fumble recovery, he had four tackles for a loss. He made two starts in 2022 and was vying for a bigger role in 2023 during training camp when he suffered an ACL tear. In March, he became a free agent without restrictions.

The Vikings released cornerback Joejuan Williams to create space on the roster.

An additional draft selection indicates
Walter Rouse, an offensive lineman, was the fourth of the Vikings’ seven draft selections to agree to a rookie deal. Rouse was chosen by the Vikings last month with the 177th overall pick in the sixth round. After graduating, he transferred to Oklahoma, where he started as the starting left tackle in the previous season after starting four seasons for Stanford.
