Ballymena United Eye Move for Coleraine Defender Cameron Stewart

Ballymena United are reportedly interested in signing former Northern Ireland youth international Cameron Stewart from Irish Premiership rivals Coleraine.

The 22-year-old defender has garnered attention following a solid season with Coleraine, during which he made 19 league appearances and played a key role in helping the Bannsiders secure a top-half finish.

Stewart began his professional journey with Linfield before earning a move to Ipswich Town in 2019. While with the English club, he spent time on loan with Crusaders, gaining valuable Irish League experience. He later returned to Northern Ireland permanently in 2023, joining Coleraine after a stint in Scotland with Cove Rangers in League One.

Known for his physical presence and versatility across the backline, Stewart could prove to be a shrewd addition for Ballymena as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming campaign.

No official comment has been made by either club at this stage, but sources indicate that discussions could progress in the coming weeks. A potential move would add further depth to a Ballymena side hoping to climb the Irish Premiership table after a challenging season.
