Exclusive: Aston Villa Initiate Early Approach for Nicolas Jackson Following Watkins Update
Aston Villa have begun initial discussions over a potential move for Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson, according to sources speaking to Football Insider.
Manager Unai Emery is eager to revamp his attacking options during the summer transfer window and has identified the 24-year-old as a prime target.
As Football Insider previously reported, Villa are open to offers for Ollie Watkins and have been considering offloading him by the June 30th accounting deadline. This would help the club stay within Premier League financial regulations.
Emery is understood to hold Jackson in high regard and believes he could mature into a top-level striker in the English top flight.
The Aston Villa boss is already familiar with Jackson’s abilities, having worked with the Senegal international during their shared stint at Villarreal.
