MANHATTAN, Kansas – Jordan Dunbar, a cornerback, signed a Financial Aid Agreement on Tuesday, making Kansas State’s fourth FBS transfer of the spring window.

Dunbar attended Rice for the previous four seasons before coming to K-State. He will be eligible for two more years after redshirting the 2023 campaign. This year’s spring transfer window class includes quarterback Ta’Quan Roberson (Connecticut), linebacker Alec Marenco (New Mexico), and running back Dylan Edwards (Colorado).

Born and raised in Tarrytown, New York, Dunbar participated in 25 games during his three seasons at Rice, starting 21 of them. Following a single game in 2020, Dunbar participated in all 12 games with nine starts in 2021, earning All-Freshman C-USA recognition from the league’s coaches. In 2022, he started all 12 games on his way to being named an Honorable Mention in the All-Conference USA.

Dunbar tied for ninth in C-USA with 10 pass breakups during the 2022 season, which saw Rice earn a trip to the Lending Tree Bowl. Against Louisiana Tech, Dunbar recorded a career-high three pass breakups. In 2021, Dunbar recorded a career-high seven tackles against Houston in addition to nine pass breakups, two of which came in the season finale.

Kansas State finished the 2023 season ranked 18th in the Associated Press Top 25, 19th in the AFCA Coaches Poll, and 25th in the College Football Playoff Top 25. The team had a 9-4 record, which included a victory over No. 18 NC State in the Pop-Tarts Bowl. As the only Big 12 team and one of just 11 Power 4 teams with at least eight wins in a season, the Wildcats are currently enjoying a three-year winning streak.

In 2024, K-State plays its home opener against UT Martin on August 31 at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. On September 7, the team travels to play Tulane. On Friday, September 13, K-State hosts Arizona to wrap up non-conference play.
