Dallas – Prolonged Dallas Maverick Tim Hardaway Jr. bid the team farewell on Saturday following the official completion of his trade to the Detroit Pistons.
In the 2018–19 season, Hardaway joined Dallas as a part of the trade for Kristaps PorziņĒis.
Shortly after the trade was confirmed, the shooting guard thanked the city and his teammates in a social media post.
“To Dallas, I want to express my gratitude for helping me grow not only as a player but also as a person! Even though things didn’t turn out the way I had hoped, the city and organization welcomed my family and me with open arms, for which I will always be grateful,” he wrote in an online post.
During his time in Dallas, Hardaway had his moments of brilliance, but he was mainly benched during the Mavs’ most recent playoff run.
Quentin Grimes was acquired in exchange for the shooting guard and three second-round selections.
Hardaway is going back to his college, Michigan, to play.
