Cleared to Resume Practice with Panthers

CHARLOTTE — Running back Miles Sanders has been cleared to return to practice with the Panthers, signaling a potential boost to their backfield as they prepare for the season finale.

Sanders has been sidelined since November 23, when he sustained an ankle injury during the team’s victory over the Giants in Germany. Following the injury, he was placed on injured reserve, limiting his availability during a crucial stretch of the season.

Over 10 games this year, Sanders has recorded 38 carries for 139 yards, playing a secondary role to Chuba Hubbard. Hubbard has been the focal point of the Panthers’ ground game, accumulating an impressive 1,195 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns during the season.

The Panthers’ backfield depth has been tested in recent weeks. Hubbard was placed on injured reserve last Saturday due to a calf injury, leaving the team with Raheem Blackshear and Mike Boone as their primary running backs during Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers.

With Sanders’ return to practice, the Panthers hope to stabilize their rushing attack and finish the season strong despite their recent challenges at the running back position.
