BREAKING: Auburn Men’s Basketball Adds Two Highly Rated Transfer Stars for 2026–27 Season

AUBURN, Ala. — The Auburn Tigers men’s basketball program, under head coach Steven Pearl, has strengthened its 2026–27 roster with the addition of two highly regarded transfer portal standouts, as forward Thomas Dowd and guard George Kimble III have officially committed to the program.

The double signing marks another significant step in Auburn’s offseason roster rebuild, as the Tigers continue to add experienced talent to complement their incoming recruiting class.

Thomas Dowd Joins Auburn Frontcourt

Forward Thomas Dowd, who previously played at Troy, has officially signed with Auburn after entering the transfer portal. The in-state standout brings valuable SEC and mid-major experience to the Tigers’ frontcourt rotation.

Dowd is expected to provide depth, physicality, and versatility in the paint, giving Auburn another option on both ends of the floor. His ability to contribute as a rebounder and interior defender made him a priority target for the coaching staff as they look to bolster their size and toughness heading into the new season.

George Kimble III Strengthens Backcourt

In a separate addition, George Kimble III, a skilled combo guard from Vanderbilt, has also signed with Auburn for the 2026–27 campaign. Kimble spent last season competing in the SEC and now makes the move within the conference to join the Tigers.

Known for his scoring ability and backcourt versatility, Kimble is expected to play a key role in Auburn’s guard rotation. His experience at the collegiate level and ability to handle multiple backcourt responsibilities give the Tigers added flexibility as they reshape their roster.

Auburn’s Transfer Portal Momentum Continues

The addition of Dowd and Kimble reflects Auburn’s aggressive approach in the transfer portal under Steven Pearl. The program has prioritized experienced players who can contribute immediately, blending veteran production with incoming young talent.

With these latest commitments, Auburn continues to build depth across multiple positions as preparations intensify for the 2026–27 season. The coaching staff views both players as key pieces in the program’s effort to remain competitive in the SEC and push for postseason success.

As the roster takes shape, the Tigers’ transfer portal strategy remains focused on adding proven contributors who can make an immediate impact on both ends of the court.
