BREAKING NEWS: Florida Gators and Billy Napier landing two-2 stunning commitments

Couple of Official Visitors I Could See Florida Eventually Landing

The Florida Gators continue to make strong impressions on the recruiting trail as Billy Napier and his staff work to build a foundation for sustained success in the SEC. With official visits underway this spring and summer, a few prospects have emerged as legitimate targets who could eventually wear the orange and blue. Here are two official visitors I believe Florida is in a strong position to land:

Jamari Davis – 4-star LB, Stone Mountain (GA)

One of the most intriguing defensive visitors on Florida’s board is Jamari Davis, a rangy linebacker from Georgia with elite closing speed and physicality. Davis visited Gainesville earlier this month and came away buzzing about the family atmosphere and player development. While programs like Georgia Tech and South Carolina are firmly in the mix, Davis has built a great rapport with Gators linebackers coach Jay Bateman, who has made him a top priority.

Sources close to Davis say Florida’s message about early playing time and SEC exposure hit home. He’s expected to return for a game in the fall, which could be a major turning point in his recruitment. If Florida continues to push, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Davis end up in this class.

Tyler Simmons – 3-star OL, Clearwater (FL)

Don’t be fooled by the stars—Simmons is a gritty, high-upside offensive lineman who has steadily climbed the boards of several Power Five programs. Florida got him on campus for an official visit in early June, and the Gators made sure he felt like a priority. With a frame that could project to either guard or tackle, Simmons fits the mold of the versatile linemen that Rob Sale and Darnell Stapleton love to develop.

Simmons has a top five that includes UCF, Miami, and Mississippi State, but Florida holds the in-state appeal and an opportunity for early depth chart movement. If the Gators close strong this summer, Simmons could very well be part of the trench rebuild that this staff has emphasized since arriving in Gainesville.

 Final Thoughts

As the 2025 cycle heats up, Florida is positioning itself well with a number of key targets. Jamari Davis and Tyler Simmons aren’t the flashiest names on the board, but both represent realistic and potentially impactful additions to the Gators’ future. Keep an eye on how the staff manages their next rounds of visits momentum matters, and Florida may be on the verge of flipping it in their favor.
