Titans Ink Top Draft Pick Cam Ward to Rookie Deal
NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Titans have officially signed quarterback Cam Ward to his rookie contract, solidifying the addition of their No. 1 overall draft pick.
Ward, selected first overall in this year’s NFL Draft, becomes the seventh member of the team’s nine-player 2024 draft class to finalize his deal with the organization.
“It’s a blessing,” Ward said following the signing. “I’m ready to get to work.”
The Titans have already come to terms with several other draft picks: third-round safety Kevin Winston Jr., fourth-round selections tight end Gunnar Helm and receiver Elic Ayomanor, fifth-round guard Jackson Slater, and sixth-rounders cornerback Marcus Harris and running back Kalel Mullings.
Only two draft picks remain unsigned — second-round outside linebacker Oluwafemi Oladejo and fourth-round wide receiver Chimere Dike.
Ward has been an active participant in Tennessee’s offseason workouts after first suiting up during the team’s rookie minicamp earlier this month.
The quarterback brings a wealth of experience and accolades from his college career, which spanned five seasons at Incarnate Word (2020-2021), Washington State (2022-2023), and most recently Miami (2024). In his final collegiate season at Miami, Ward delivered a standout performance, throwing for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns. His efforts earned him first-team All-American honors from the Associated Press and made him a Heisman Trophy finalist. He also helped lead the Hurricanes to a 10-win season, their first since 2017.
A native of West Columbia, Texas, Ward wrapped up his college career with 18,184 passing yards and an astounding 158 touchdown passes, a record across all Division I football levels (FBS and FCS combined).
The Titans are set to begin organized team activities (OTAs) next week at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park, where Ward will continue his transition to the NFL as he competes for the starting job.
