Victor Froholdt Seen as Hugo Larsson’s Successor at Eintracht Frankfurt
With the 2025 summer transfer window approaching, Eintracht Frankfurt are beginning to prepare for the potential departure of one of their most coveted midfielders, Hugo Larsson. In doing so, the club is reportedly identifying Victor Froholdt, the Danish teenage standout from FC Copenhagen, as a leading candidate to succeed Larsson in the center of midfield.
Froholdt, just 19, has enjoyed a breakout season with Copenhagen, appearing in 38 matches across all competitions and notching 6 goals while establishing himself as one of the Danish Superliga’s most complete young midfielders. Known for his positional awareness, technical poise, and high work rate, Froholdt has also earned his first senior call-up to the Denmark national team—an impressive milestone for a player still in his teens.
According to reports in Germany and Denmark, Eintracht Frankfurt have been monitoring Froholdt for months, sending scouts to observe his performances in both domestic and European matches. The Bundesliga side is said to view the young Dane as a natural stylistic successor to Hugo Larsson, who joined Frankfurt from Malmö in 2023 and has quickly developed into a first-team mainstay.
Larsson’s combination of defensive coverage, passing range, and mature decision-making has not only made him a fan favorite in Frankfurt, but also drawn interest from major clubs across Europe. While Larsson is under contract through 2029, Frankfurt are known for planning ahead and have historically reinvested wisely when losing key players.
