The Indiana Fever have officially signed forward Chloe Bibby to a rest-of-season contract following her impressive short-term stint with the team.
At the start of the season, most Fever fans likely would have highlighted stars like Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell as the key contributors for the team’s success. While those players have certainly played vital roles (despite Clark missing much of the season due to injury), it’s been some lesser-known names who have stepped up in critical moments. Players such as Makayla Timpson and Aari McDonald have made significant impacts in unexpected ways—and now, Chloe Bibby is joining that list.
Bibby initially joined the Fever on a seven-day contract on July 25. In just two appearances, she has proven her value, averaging 9.0 points per game and shooting 50% from three-point range (4-of-8). Her shooting efficiency overall stands at 44.4%.
In her second game with the team, Bibby played a crucial role in the Fever’s 107-101 win over the Phoenix Mercury, scoring 10 points in just 13 minutes, including two made three-pointers. In her debut against the Chicago Sky, she added 8 points in 11 minutes to help Indiana secure a 93-78 victory.
Bibby’s journey to the WNBA has been anything but conventional. Originally from Australia, she came to the U.S. for college, playing three seasons at Mississippi State and two at Maryland. Though she attended training camp with the Minnesota Lynx in 2022, she didn’t make the final roster and returned to Australia to compete in the WNBL and NBL1 South.
Her WNBA aspirations were reignited in February when she signed a training camp deal with the Golden State Valkyries, the league’s newest team. She saw action in five games during two brief stints, averaging 6.4 points and 2.8 rebounds, but was waived on June 30.
That setback led to a new opportunity in Indiana. Now, with her rest-of-season contract secured, Bibby has carved out a well-deserved spot with the Fever for the remainder of the 2025 season.
