Eintracht Frankfurt Secures Swedish Striker Rebecka Blomqvist as Third Summer Signing
Eintracht Frankfurt continues to bolster its squad ahead of the upcoming Frauen-Bundesliga season, signaling clear ambitions for both domestic and European success. After already securing the signatures of goalkeeper Sophia Winkler and attacking midfielder Erëleta Memeti, the club has now officially announced its third major addition, Swedish international Rebecka Blomqvist.
The 26-year-old forward joins from league rivals VfL Wolfsburg, where she spent the last few seasons contributing to one of the most dominant sides in women’s football. Blomqvist has signed a contract with Frankfurt that runs through 2028, a strong statement of the club’s confidence in her abilities and long-term importance to their project.
Blomqvist, known for her clinical finishing, movement off the ball, and relentless work ethic, brings both international pedigree and domestic experience to Frankfurt’s frontline. During her time at Wolfsburg, she featured in numerous high-stakes matches, including Champions League knockout rounds and DFB-Pokal finals, often making an impact whether starting or coming off the bench.
Her signing marks a key step in Eintracht’s strategy to challenge for the Frauen-Bundesliga title and secure regular qualification for European competition. Frankfurt has made steady progress in recent years, and the addition of proven talent like Blomqvist shows they are now targeting that next level.
“I’m really excited to join Eintracht Frankfurt,” said Blomqvist in her first interview with the club. “The team has shown great development, and I’m looking forward to being part of this journey. I want to bring my experience, work hard, and help the team achieve its goals.”
With Blomqvist’s arrival, head coach Niko Arnautis now has an even more dynamic and versatile set of attacking options at his disposal. The club has hinted there may be more reinforcements coming, but this trio of signings Winkler, Memeti, and now Blomqvist already puts Frankfurt among the most proactive clubs this transfer window.
As preseason preparations ramp up, all eyes will be on how quickly these new additions integrate into the squad and whether this revamped Eintracht Frankfurt side can finally break the dominance of Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga.
