EXCLUSIVE: Ipswich Town player backed to secure West Ham transfer switch – £35m clause to be triggered

West Ham Eye Ipswich Star Omari Hutchinson as Kudus Replacement

Ipswich Town star Omari Hutchinson is once again attracting Premier League interest, with West Ham United reportedly preparing a move for the talented playmaker—should they decide to cash in on Ghanaian international Mohammed Kudus this summer.

Hutchinson, 20, was one of the bright sparks in Kieran McKenna’s side during their Premier League campaign last season. Despite the Tractor Boys suffering relegation alongside Southampton and Leicester City, Hutchinson stood out with his flair, creativity, and work rate, gaining admirers across the top flight.

West Ham have been tracking Hutchinson for several months and view the England youth international as a viable replacement for Kudus, who has drawn interest from several European heavyweights after an impressive debut season in East London. While no formal bids have been lodged, sources close to the Hammers suggest Hutchinson is firmly on their shortlist should Kudus be sold.

The dynamic winger joined Ipswich on loan from Chelsea last season and played a pivotal role in their push to avoid the drop, contributing vital goals and assists in an otherwise challenging campaign. His consistent performances earned him plaudits and have sparked speculation over his long-term future, especially now that Ipswich face another stint in the Championship.

So far, only one member of McKenna’s 2024 squad has sealed a Premier League move striker Liam Delap’s transfer to Chelsea. But with Hutchinson’s stock rising and several Premier League clubs circling, he could be the next to leave Portman Road.

Whether Ipswich can hold onto one of their prized assets remains to be seen. But with the transfer window in full swing and West Ham’s interest heating up, Hutchinson’s future could be decided sooner rather than later.
