Kansas State football continues to strengthen its roster for the 2026 season, adding another junior college transfer as the program builds depth under its evolving lineup plans.
Defensive back Damion Miller announced his commitment to the Wildcats on Monday, May 4, giving Kansas State another experienced addition in the secondary. Miller brings size and versatility to the defensive backfield, standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 195 pounds, a frame that should help him compete physically in Big 12 matchups.

Miller arrives from Southwest Mississippi Community College, where he played seven games and recorded 11 total tackles during his time on the field. While his junior college production was limited in volume, his physical tools and upside made him an attractive target for multiple programs looking to bolster their defensive depth.
Originally a high school signee of Southern Miss, Miller began his college career there before eventually entering the transfer portal during the fall of the 2024 season. That move opened the door for other programs to evaluate him again, and his recruitment picked up momentum as he re-entered the market.
Before choosing Kansas State, Miller went through a busy recruiting stretch that included multiple visits and offers. He traveled to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he met with staff at LSU during discussions led by head coach Lane Kiffin’s circle of influence in the broader recruiting landscape. He also received interest from Jackson State, adding to a growing list of schools that expressed interest in his potential.
Ultimately, Miller took a visit to Manhattan, Kansas, over the weekend, which proved to be a key step in his decision-making process. After evaluating his options, he committed to Kansas State, giving the Wildcats another late addition to their incoming class.
His commitment is part of a larger trend for Kansas State, which has been active in the junior college transfer market as it continues shaping its roster under head coach Collin Klein’s staff. The program has placed increased emphasis on adding experienced players who can contribute more quickly at the college level, especially on defense.
Miller joins a group of recent junior college additions that includes tight end Owen Harrington and defensive tackle Elijah Jackson, both of whom also committed in recent weeks. These additions highlight Kansas State’s ongoing effort to balance its roster with a mix of developing high school talent and ready-made college players.
For Kansas State, Miller’s arrival adds another layer of competition in the secondary as the team prepares for the demands of the upcoming season. With multiple years of eligibility remaining, he provides both immediate depth and long-term potential for the Wildcats’ defensive unit.
As the roster continues to take shape, Kansas State’s focus on junior college talent suggests a clear strategy of reinforcing key positions with physically mature players who can adapt quickly to the Big 12 level. Miller’s commitment fits directly into that approach, giving the Wildcats another piece as they round out their 2026 roster.
