Breaking: Titans sign another veteran TE , waive two in Roster Shuffle

The Tennessee Titans made a roster move on Monday, signing rookie tight end Drake Dabney and waiving two players to create space. The addition of Dabney reflects the team’s continued effort to inject youth and upside into the tight end room ahead of training camp.

Dabney, a 6-foot-5, 245-pound product of Baylor, went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft but was quickly recognized as a potential sleeper among tight end prospects. He caught the attention of NFL scouts during his senior season, when he posted career highs with 35 receptions for 527 yards and five touchdowns in 11 games. Dabney brings a combination of size, athleticism, and strong hands, making him a red zone threat and a developing asset in both the passing and run-blocking phases of the game.

His addition gives the Titans another option behind starter Chigoziem Okonkwo, who is expected to play a larger role in the offense this season. With offensive coordinator Nick Holz looking to install more versatile and dynamic sets, adding a tight end like Dabney fits into Tennessee’s evolving scheme.

To make room for Dabney, the Titans waived tight end Thomas Odukoya and wide receiver Tre’Shaun Harrison. Odukoya, a product of the NFL’s International Player Pathway program, spent time on the Titans’ practice squad but never made an appearance in a regular season game. Harrison, who went undrafted out of Oregon State in 2023, was competing for a depth role at wide receiver but struggled to stand out in a crowded group.

The move suggests the Titans are prioritizing youth and upside at key positions as they reshape the roster under head coach Brian Callahan. While Dabney will still have to earn his spot through offseason workouts and preseason action, the Titans clearly see enough potential to give him a closer look heading into the summer.
