RELEASE: In the wake of Juwan Johnson’s injury, the New Orleans Saints signed a six-year veteran.
Following their completion of the required minicamp on Thursday, the New Orleans Saints will have a month and a half until the start of training camp.
Regretfully, the Saints suffered an injury during minicamp. Their tight end sustained an injury recently.
The tight end for the New Orleans Saints sustained a foot injury.

Juwan Johnson will have surgery the following week after suffering a foot injury during mandatory minicamp. Johnson’s injury is permanent, but the Saints believe he will be healthy in time for the season to begin.
In reaction to his injury, the Saints signed an experienced tight end.
A veteran tight end was signed by the New Orleans Saints.

Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports that Jesper Horsted was signed by the Saints.
In his sixth season in the league, Horsted is on his third team. Throughout his career, he has participated in 41 games, starting one, and has 14 receptions for 131 yards and three touchdowns.

Juwan Johnson, Foster Moreau, Dallin Holker, Horsted, Michael Jacobson, Tommy Hudson, and Taysom Hill (FLEX) are the seven tight ends that the Saints currently have on their roster.
Horsted will fight for a spot on the squad.
Jesper Horsted will face competition to make the roster.

Foster Moreau, Taysom Hill, and Juwan Johnson are guaranteed spots on a roster, but the final spot is up for grabs. Horsted will face Tommy Hudson, Michael Jacobson, and Dallin Holker for the last roster spot.
