The Dallas Mavericks have added Klay Thompson, Naji Marshall, and Quentin Grimes to their roster in the first three days of their 2024 free agency. The group still has room to add players to its roster, though.
Some of the remaining unsigned free agents have experience playing for the Mavs. Those free agents have the potential to return to Big D and have a major influence.
Any player can benefit from reunions at any time. And the five free agents that the Mavericks still have available to them can help them fill the last roster spot.
The team should sign five former Dallas Mavericks to fill the final roster spot.
The five free agents may be very interested in rejoining the Mavericks after they make it to the NBA Finals in 2024.
Since Nico Harrison joined the team, Dallas has made significant moves, and this summer is no exception.
5. Bullock Reggie
Reggie Bullock is well-known to Mavs supporters because he played for the Mavs for two seasons and was a member of the 2022 squad that advanced to the Western Conference Finals.
Bullock played a forgettable season with the Rockets last year after leaving the Mavericks after 2023. Bullock scored a meagre 2.2 points per game on average during his one season in Houston. Bullock Jr., who is 33 years old, might be saved by a new beginning in a return to Dallas.
Since Tim Hardaway Jr. and Derrick Jones Jr. are no longer available to play small forward and shooting guard, Bullock Jr. can fill in at both positions if necessary. Bullock can shoot the three efficiently and is a strong defender. Bullock can serve as a mentor for some of the younger Mavs players and is a good leader in the locker room.
Bullock, who averaged 10.6 points per game in 18 playoff games, was one of the key x-factors for the Mavs in 2022 when they advanced to the Conference Finals.
Bullock’s 2023ā24 season with the Mavs’ in-state rival team driving on Iā45 South was disappointing, so returning to the North could be beneficial for both the Mavs and Bullock’s career.
