Rifai, who is now 26 years old, will have a cap charge of $775,000 each season under the new agreement, and he was originally scheduled to become an unrestricted free agency next summer.

In his debut NHL season, Marshall Rifai appeared in two games for the Leafs last year but failed to record a point. With the Toronto Marlies of the AHL, he performed a little better, tallying two goals and 19 points in 57 games.

One of the most formidable defensemen in Canadian hockey is Marshall Rifai. He weighs 207 pounds and is 6’1″. Rifai’s excellent play gained him a lot of attention during his three NCAA seasons at Harvard. He spent time with the Toronto Maple Leafs in both the NHL and their AHL club, the Toronto Marlies, in 2022 after signing with the team.

Rifai made his NHL debut in the 2022–2023 season. He is a valuable asset to the Leafs because of his consistent presence in the team’s defense and his demeanor on the ice.
