Good News: Las Vegas Raiders Officially Announced The Signing America’s No. 1 Dolphins Favorite Superstar, $72 Million Star Defender

Las Vegas Raiders Make Major Move to Sign Star Defender, Eye Potential Trade for Dolphins’ Jalen Ramsey

The Las Vegas Raiders are stepping into a fresh chapter under new head coach Pete Carroll, hoping to reshape their trajectory after failing to meet expectations over the past few seasons. Although they have struggled to make the playoffs recently, the 2025 NFL season brings renewed optimism for the franchise.

With free agency mostly settled and the 2025 NFL Draft now complete, the Raiders are still exploring ways to upgrade their roster. One intriguing possibility being discussed is acquiring an elite, proven veteran to solidify their defense — particularly the secondary.

A major name connected to the Raiders in recent reports is Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey, a highly respected defender with a $72.3 million contract. According to Nick Shook of NFL.com, Las Vegas could be a strong trade candidate for Ramsey, a move that would significantly enhance their defense.

“It would be ideal, then, to reverse that momentum on the defensive side by swinging a deal for a household name like Ramsey, who would look excellent in Silver and Black and instantly provide the Raiders with a respected cornerback in a secondary that could use some intimidation,” Shook stated.

Shook emphasized that the Raiders are in a strong financial position, currently holding the second-most cap space in the league with $42.3 million, per Over The Cap. This flexibility gives them the resources to seriously pursue a player of Ramsey’s caliber if he becomes available on the trade market.

Ramsey had a solid 2024 season with the Dolphins, appearing in all 17 games. He recorded 60 tackles, added a sack, grabbed two interceptions, and broke up 11 passes. Despite being in the league for several years, he continues to perform at an elite level and can still serve as a true No. 1 cornerback for any team.

For the Raiders, acquiring Ramsey would be a major upgrade to a secondary that has lacked star power and consistency. His presence would bring not just talent, but also leadership and intimidation — qualities that could lift the entire defense and help Las Vegas push toward playoff contention.

With Pete Carroll now at the helm, defense will likely be a major emphasis moving forward. Carroll’s coaching legacy is built around tough, smart defensive play, and adding someone like Ramsey could be the kind of bold move that sets the tone for his new era in Las Vegas.

While no trade has been finalized, the Raiders’ interest and available cap space make them a realistic landing spot should the Dolphins look to deal their All-Pro defender. Ramsey would be an immediate impact player for Las Vegas, both on the field and in the locker room.

If the opportunity arises, the Raiders should seriously consider making a move for Jalen Ramsey. His talent and veteran presence could help take the team to the next level in their quest to return to postseason relevance.
