BREAKING NEWS: Just In, Tennessee Titans finally reached agreement to acquire four-time Pro Bowler

In a major development that could reshape the landscape of the AFC South, the Tennessee Titans have reportedly reached a deal to acquire four-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Matthew Judon. Sources close to the team confirmed that the agreement was finalized Monday morning after extensive negotiations with the New England Patriots, Judon’s team since 2021.

Judon, 32, has been one of the most consistent and disruptive pass rushers in the league over the last several seasons. He recorded a career-high 15.5 sacks in 2022 and had four sacks through just four games in 2023 before a biceps injury sidelined him for the remainder of the season. With his return to full health expected by training camp, the Titans saw an opportunity to bolster a defense that has struggled to pressure opposing quarterbacks with consistency.

Details of the trade have yet to be disclosed, but league insiders suggest the Titans are parting with a future second-round draft pick and a conditional late-round pick depending on Judon’s performance in 2025. Tennessee is also expected to take on the majority of the \$12.5 million remaining on Judon’s restructured deal.

For the Titans, the move signals a renewed commitment to contention under new head coach Brian Callahan. With franchise mainstays like Jeffery Simmons anchoring the defensive line and the addition of Judon on the edge, Tennessee now possesses one of the most formidable front sevens in the NFL.

“We’re excited to bring in a player of Judon’s caliber,” Titans General Manager Ran Carthon said in a statement. “He brings leadership, physicality, and a proven ability to disrupt opposing offenses. This is a major step forward for our defense.”

Judon expressed excitement about joining Tennessee, saying in a social media post, “Let’s work, Titans Nation. Can’t wait to bring the heat in Nashville.”

For the Patriots, this trade marks a clear pivot toward rebuilding under new head coach Jerod Mayo, who inherits a roster in transition. The departure of Judon is a major shift in their defensive identity, but it opens cap space and draft capital to reshape the future.

As minicamps begin across the league, all eyes will be on Nashville, where Judon’s arrival could prove to be the catalyst the Titans need to reclaim the AFC South crown.
