Breaking: Ohio State Buckeyes officially announced the commitment of highly talented prospect

The Ohio State Buckeyes are set to welcome a promising new talent to their men’s basketball roster as incoming freshman A’mare Bynum prepares to enroll this summer. Standing at 6-foot-8 and weighing 220 pounds, Bynum is a four-star power forward from Omaha, Nebraska, who played his senior year at Link Academy in Branson, Missouri. He committed to Ohio State in October 2024, choosing the Buckeyes over offers from Iowa, Colorado, LSU, Xavier, and others.

Bynum’s senior season at Link Academy showcased his versatility and skill set. He averaged 10.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.0 blocks per game, contributing significantly to his team’s performance. His efforts did not go unnoticed, as he rose to No. 54 overall and No. 11 among power forwards in the final 2025 On3 150 Basketball Rankings.

Ohio State head coach Jake Diebler has expressed enthusiasm about Bynum’s addition to the team. Diebler highlighted Bynum’s ability to play multiple positions and his potential to contribute immediately. “A’mare brings a unique combination of size, skill, and versatility that fits well with our system,” Diebler said. “We’re excited to see how he develops and impacts our program.”

With the recent news that fellow 2025 commit Dorian Jones will not enroll this summer, Bynum stands as the sole incoming freshman for the Buckeyes this season. This places additional importance on his development and integration into the team. Analysts anticipate that Bynum will see regular playing time, with projections suggesting he could average around 19 minutes, nine points, and five rebounds per game.

As Bynum prepares to join the Buckeyes, fans and coaches alike are eager to witness his contributions on the court. His arrival marks a significant step in Ohio State’s efforts to strengthen their roster and compete at a high level in the upcoming season.
