Titans Sign Former 49ers and Eagles Running Back Ty Davis-Price to Two-Year Deal
The Tennessee Titans have signed running back Ty Davis-Price to a two-year contract as they continue reshaping their offense following a disappointing 2025 season.
Tennessee finished with one of the league’s worst offensive outputs last year, managing just three wins and earning the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Much of the blame was directed at quarterback Will Levis, prompting new general manager Mike Borgonzi to select former Miami Hurricanes star Cam Ward as the team’s top pick. Ward is expected to start right away after throwing for over 4,300 yards and 39 touchdowns during his final college season.
Despite already having capable skill players, the Titans made it a priority to reinforce the offensive unit this offseason in support of their rookie quarterback. Wide receiver and tight end were among the team’s primary targets for improvement, while the running back group — headlined by Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears — was seen as one of the roster’s stronger components.
Still, Tennessee used a sixth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to bring in Michigan running back Kalel Mullings, showing a clear intent to build depth behind their top two backs.
On Monday, NFL insider Ian Rapoport revealed that the Titans were further boosting their backfield by signing Ty Davis-Price to a multi-year deal. Davis-Price, who entered the league as a third-round pick by the San Francisco 49ers in 2022, had a limited impact during his time there, logging just 120 rushing yards over two seasons without scoring a touchdown.
He was picked up by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024 but again saw minimal action — just five total snaps and three carries for seven yards throughout the season. Despite his modest production thus far, the 6-foot-1, 219-pound back has the size and physical tools to still develop into a valuable contributor.
Now in Tennessee, Davis-Price will have the opportunity to compete for a spot in the rotation. He joins a crowded group of backups that includes Mullings, Julius Chestnut, and Micah Bernard, all vying for the third running back role behind established contributors Pollard and Spears.
Titans head coach Brian Callahan will be tasked with unlocking Davis-Price’s potential and determining whether he can carve out a role on the offense. Given his physical attributes and fresh opportunity, the 24-year-old running back could become a useful asset in the Titans’ revamped offensive scheme.
As Tennessee transitions into a new era with Cam Ward under center, building a strong and versatile running game will be crucial to easing the pressure on their rookie quarterback and reestablishing the team as a competitive force in the AFC. Davis-Price’s signing adds another piece to that puzzle.
