In what’s shaping up to be a pivotal recruiting week for Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels, the program is set to host a group of elite four-star skill position players for mid-week official visits. With the 2025 recruiting cycle heating up, Ole Miss is aiming to make a strong impression and continue building momentum on the trail.
Among the high-profile visitors is four-star wide receiver Malcolm Simmons from Benjamin Russell High School in Alabama. Simmons, who boasts explosive speed and reliable hands, has drawn national attention from top-tier programs including Auburn, Florida State, and Miami. Ole Miss, however, has remained a consistent contender for his signature. Sources indicate the Rebels’ offensive system and Kiffin’s reputation for developing receivers are appealing factors.
Joining Simmons in Oxford is four-star running back Justin Baker, a versatile back out of Buford High School in Georgia. Baker, who has been a major contributor in one of the state’s most competitive programs, is considering Ole Miss alongside Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee. His ability to catch passes out of the backfield could make him an ideal fit in Kiffin’s uptempo offense.
Another key visitor is four-star athlete Trey McDaniel, who plays both receiver and defensive back at Lancaster High School in Texas. McDaniel is being recruited by Ole Miss as a receiver but could also project as a defensive back at the college level. His versatility and athleticism have made him a priority target for the Rebels’ staff.
Finally, four-star tight end Elijah Lofton is also expected to be in attendance. A dynamic pass-catching threat out of Las Vegas, Lofton has drawn comparisons to former Rebel Kenny Yeboah due to his size-speed combination and red zone prowess.
Hosting mid-week visits is an uncommon but strategic move, allowing the Rebels to dedicate more personal attention to their top targets without the distraction of a game weekend crowd. It also speaks to how highly the staff prioritizes these prospects.
With a strong showing this week, Ole Miss has the potential to make major strides in securing commitments from some of the top skill players in the 2025 class. Kiffin and his staff will look to capitalize on the momentum and continue assembling one of the strongest offensive recruiting classes in the SEC.
