JUST IN: Wrexham have just been handed a major boost in quest to sign ‘phenomenal’ Liverpool youngster

Wrexham Eye Midfield Reinforcements as Pre-Season Nears

With pre-season fast approaching, Wrexham AFC are actively working to strengthen their squad under the leadership of manager Phil Parkinson, and more signings are expected to follow the arrival of striker Ryan Hardie, the club’s first acquisition of the summer window.

Hardie, brought in from Plymouth Argyle, offers proven goal-scoring ability and experience at the League One level. His addition is seen as a key upgrade in the Red Dragons’ attacking options as the club prepares for life in League One after back-to-back promotions under the ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

However, attention has now shifted to central midfield, which is viewed by Parkinson and the recruitment team as a critical area needing reinforcements.

One of the names high on Wrexham’s radar is Ryan Teague, the 22-year-old Australian midfielder currently playing for Melbourne Victory. Teague, known for his composure on the ball, tactical discipline, and leadership at a young age, would bring energy and creativity to Wrexham’s midfield. Sources suggest talks have begun, and Wrexham are hopeful of striking a deal before pre-season begins in earnest.

Meanwhile, the club had ambitious hopes of landing Tom Cairney from Fulham, and despite Reynolds and McElhenney reportedly offering a bumper contract to tempt the experienced midfielder to the Racecourse Ground, Cairney now looks increasingly likely to remain at Craven Cottage, where he is still valued by Marco Silva.

Nonetheless, optimism remains around alternative midfield targets, and the club may soon receive a boost in that regard, with insiders hinting that progress is being made behind the scenes.

As Wrexham prepare for a challenging League One campaign, bolstering their midfield remains a top priority, and fans can expect more movement in the transfer market in the coming days.
