Vancouver Canucks Re-Sign Brock Boeser to Seven-Year, \$50.75M Deal

The Vancouver Canucks have made a major move to retain one of their top offensive weapons, re-signing right-winger Brock Boeser to a seven-year contract worth US\$50.75 million, the team announced Tuesday.

The deal, which carries an average annual value (AAV) of \$7.25 million, was made official just 30 minutes after the NHL’s free agency window opened, preventing Boeser from hitting the open market as an unrestricted free agent. The 28-year-old forward, who hails from Burnsville, Minnesota, was poised to be one of the most sought-after forwards available had he not re-upped with Vancouver.

Boeser is coming off a career-best season in 2024–25, where he notched 74 points (36 goals, 38 assists) in 78 games, solidifying his role as a key piece of the Canucks’ top-six forward group and a consistent threat on the power play. His resurgence under head coach Rick Tocchet helped fuel the team’s playoff push, and his chemistry with Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller was a major reason for the club’s offensive success.

Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin praised Boeser’s commitment and growth, stating:

“Brock has shown tremendous character, work ethic, and leadership over the past few seasons. Keeping him in Vancouver long-term was a priority for us, and we’re thrilled to get this done.”

Boeser, who has spent his entire NHL career with the Canucks since being drafted 23rd overall in 2015, expressed excitement about staying in Vancouver.

“This city and this team mean a lot to me. I’ve grown up here as a player and a person, and I’m excited to continue chasing a Stanley Cup with this group.”

The deal provides long-term stability for both Boeser and the Canucks, who continue to build a competitive core aiming to return to the upper echelon of the Western Conference.
