OFFICIAL REPORT: San Antonio Spurs fans favorite super Staris signing with the Toronto Raptors

Sandro Mamukelashvili is Signing with the Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors are bolstering their frontcourt depth with the addition of Sandro Mamukelashvili, according to multiple reports. The 25-year-old forward is expected to sign a two-year deal worth \$5.5 million, with the second year reportedly a player option.

Mamukelashvili, a versatile 6-foot-9 forward/center, spent last season with the San Antonio Spurs, where he averaged 6.3 points and 3.1 rebounds in just over 11 minutes per game. Known for his ability to stretch the floor and move well without the ball, he also shot an efficient 37% from beyond the arc, providing valuable spacing from the forward position.

Born in New York but raised in Georgia, Mamukelashvili was originally drafted 54th overall by the Indiana Pacers in 2021 and quickly moved to the Milwaukee Bucks, where he began his NBA journey. He joined the Spurs in 2023 and gained attention last season after an explosive March performance in which he scored 34 points in just 19 minutes, going a perfect 7-for-7 from three-point range a rare display of scoring efficiency.

For the Raptors, this signing is a low-risk, high-upside move. With the roster currently thin on experienced frontcourt players behind Jakob Poeltl, Mamukelashvili brings a combination of size, shooting, and untapped potential that could earn him a consistent role off the bench.

The addition also aligns with the Raptors’ ongoing effort to retool around a younger core while maintaining flexibility. With a player option in the second year, Mamukelashvili has an opportunity to prove himself in a larger role and potentially earn a long-term stay in Toronto.

The deal is expected to be finalized once the NBA free agency moratorium period ends. For now, it appears that Mamukelashvili is ready to bring his unique skill set north of the border as the Raptors continue shaping their roster for the 2025–26 season.
