Breaking: Fever Coach Shares Latest Update on Caitlin Clark’s Injury Return Status

Fever Coach Provides Update on Caitlin Clark’s Injury Recovery

Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White shared the latest information about Caitlin Clark’s potential return to the lineup on July 5.

The Fever have arguably played their best basketball of the 2025 season in their last two outings. They convincingly defeated the 15-2 Minnesota Lynx 74–59 on July 1, then followed it up by routing the Las Vegas Aces 81–54 on July 3.

Remarkably, Indiana achieved both victories without their star guard Caitlin Clark, who has been sidelined the last four games due to a groin injury.

Although Clark seems to be progressing and nearing a return, the Fever are proceeding cautiously to avoid rushing her back too soon. With the team performing at such a high level even in her absence, there’s less urgency to accelerate her timeline.

Clark’s next chance to play will be the July 5 matchup against the Los Angeles Sparks. When speaking to reporters on July 4, Coach White discussed the possibility of Clark suiting up on Saturday.

“We did some semi-live shooting drills… Caitlin still hasn’t participated in a full-speed practice or a live defensive session,” White explained, according to Tony East on X. “She has been doing some 3-on-3 work on her own.”

White also noted Clark’s preference regarding playing time limits: “She’s made it clear she doesn’t like minutes restrictions. So if we do need to put her on one, we might consider keeping her out another game.”

She added, “We’ll reevaluate her in the morning to see how she’s responded to the increased workload over the past few days, and then decide.”

White emphasized that the priority is Clark’s overall well-being: “I care about her long-term health and making sure she’s 100% ready before she returns.”

Given these comments, it seems likely Clark could sit out again on July 5, but all indications are she is nearing a comeback.
