Angel Reese Playfully Calls Out Sydney Colson Over Court Incident Involving Sex Toy

Angel Reese recently added some humor to a strange trend happening in the WNBA — a fan throwing sex toys onto the court during games.

The Chicago Sky forward took to X (formerly Twitter) to jokingly call out Indiana Fever’s Sydney Colson following the bizarre incidents.

“Hey @SydJColson, why do you keep throwing your mean green in different arenas… it’s getting weird,” Reese wrote in a playful jab at Colson.

In response, Colson posted a meme of herself looking annoyed. Reese hasn’t yet replied to Colson’s reaction.

While Reese chose to make light of the situation, other WNBA players voiced serious concern.

Chicago Sky center Elizabeth Williams said, “It’s extremely disrespectful. I don’t understand the motivation behind it. It’s childish, and whoever’s responsible needs to stop.”

Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham was also frustrated, posting on X, “Stop throwing dildos on the court… you’re going to hurt one of us.”

New York Liberty’s Isabelle Harrison added her thoughts on X: “ARENA SECURITY?! Hello?? Please do better. It’s not funny and never was. Throwing anything on the court is dangerous.”

The most recent events occurred during two Golden State Valkyries games. On July 29, during a game against the Atlanta Dream, a green object — later identified as a sex toy — was thrown on the court, temporarily pausing the game. Then on August 1, during the Valkyries’ matchup against the Chicago Sky, another sex toy was tossed on the court.

The WNBA has since issued a statement, confirming that a fan involved in the Dream game incident has been arrested. It’s not yet clear whether the same person was responsible for the incident at the Sky game.

“Our top priority is ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone in the arena,” the league said in a statement reported by ESPN. “Throwing any object onto the court presents a safety hazard. Per league security policies, anyone who throws something on the court will be immediately ejected and face at least a one-year ban, and could also be arrested and prosecuted by local authorities.”

As of now, the Chicago Sky hold a 7-20 record and are set to face the Phoenix Mercury at 6 p.m. on August 3.
