Latest News: Phillies’ Bryce Harper Announces Career Decision Amid MLB Offseason

Philadelphia Phillies icon Bryce Harper recently provided clarity on the status of his long-standing relationship with Under Armour, putting an end to weeks of speculation.

Harper is preparing to enter his 15th Major League Baseball season, a milestone that also marks his eighth year in a Phillies uniform. He spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Washington Nationals before signing with Philadelphia, where he has become the face of the franchise.

As he approaches another season, Harper’s résumé already places him among the elite players of his generation. The 33-year-old power hitter is a two-time National League MVP, an eight-time All-Star, and a four-time Silver Slugger Award winner. While a World Series championship has so far eluded him, Harper is hopeful that goal can be achieved in Philadelphia, especially after the team re-signed fellow slugger Kyle Schwarber and continues to position itself as a contender in the highly competitive NL East.

Harper is coming off another productive season at the plate, finishing with a .261 batting average, 27 home runs, and 75 RBIs, reaffirming his importance to the Phillies’ lineup.

Recently, however, Harper sparked conversation off the field when he was seen wearing Nike footwear, a surprising sight given his long association with Under Armour dating back to the start of his MLB career. The moment quickly gained traction on social media, prompting questions about whether his endorsement deal with Under Armour had come to an end.

Adding fuel to the speculation, Harper responded to a fan on TikTok by stating that he was currently a “free agent in the apparel/footwear category,” suggesting his future with the brand was uncertain.

That uncertainty didn’t last long. On Tuesday, Harper addressed the situation directly by confirming that he is continuing his partnership with Under Armour. In an Instagram post, he made it clear that there was never any real doubt about the outcome.

“Never a doubt. After 15 years, I’m proud to continue my partnership with Under Armour. Together we’ve made history and that doesn’t stop now!” Harper wrote.

Harper originally signed with Under Armour in April 2011 shortly after being selected first overall by the Nationals in the 2010 MLB Draft. His relationship with the brand deepened in 2016, when he agreed to a 10-year extension that became the largest endorsement deal ever for a baseball player at the time.

With NBA superstar Stephen Curry recently parting ways with Under Armour, losing both Curry and Harper would have been a significant setback for the company. Instead, Under Armour retains one of baseball’s most recognizable stars.

As Harper turns his focus toward the 2026 MLB season, he does so with continuity both on and off the field—remaining a cornerstone for the Phillies and a flagship athlete for Under Armour.
