Auburn Tigers has added another important piece to its future roster, securing a commitment from 2027 linebacker Kareem Palmer out of Georgia. The rising prospect officially announced his decision after visiting Auburn’s campus during the program’s popular Big Cat Weekend event, giving the Tigers an early boost in their long-term recruiting efforts.
Palmer, who hails from Lyons, Georgia, and attends Toombs County High School, made his intentions public with an emotional message celebrating the moment.

He expressed gratitude and excitement about his future, sharing that he felt “highly favored and blessed” to commit to Auburn University and join the Tigers’ football program. His announcement quickly drew attention from fans and recruiting analysts, especially given the level of competition involved in his recruitment.
Physically, Palmer brings an impressive frame for a young linebacker. He is listed at 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds, a build that already projects well for college-level defensive play. His combination of size and athletic upside has made him one of the more intriguing defensive prospects in Georgia’s 2027 class.
According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Palmer is currently rated as a three-star recruit. He is positioned as the No. 39 linebacker nationally, the No. 61 overall player in the state of Georgia, and the No. 505 prospect in the entire 2027 recruiting class. While those rankings may still evolve over the next couple of years, they already place him firmly on the radar as a legitimate Division I talent with significant upside.
Palmer’s recruitment was far from a one-team race. As one of the more promising linebackers in the Peach State, he attracted strong interest from a wide range of major college programs. In total, he reportedly received 22 scholarship offers, a list that included powerhouse schools such as Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas, and several others. This level of attention highlights just how competitive his recruitment had become even at an early stage.
As his decision narrowed, Palmer focused on three primary finalists: Auburn, Mississippi State, and Texas A&M. After evaluating his options and taking his visit to Auburn, he ultimately chose to continue his development with the Tigers. Recruiting insider Hayes Fawcett of Rivals reported that Auburn ultimately won out in the final stretch, securing Palmer’s verbal commitment.
With Palmer’s pledge, Auburn’s 2027 recruiting class continues to grow steadily. His addition marks the program’s seventh commitment for that cycle, signaling early momentum as the coaching staff works to build depth and long-term strength on defense.
While fans will have to wait before seeing him in an Auburn uniform, Palmer’s high school film already offers a glimpse of what he could bring to the program. His highlights showcase a physical linebacker with strong tackling ability, good field awareness, and the kind of aggressive playing style that fits well in the SEC.
As Auburn continues to build its 2027 class, Palmer stands out as a key early commitment with the potential to develop into an important defensive contributor in the future.
