BREAKING: Four-Star 2026 Linebacker Keenan Harris Commits to Mizzou Football

The Missouri Tigers have received a much-needed boost to their 2026 recruiting class, landing a key in-state commitment from four-star linebacker Keenan Harris. The standout from St. Louis University High School (SLUH) announced his commitment on Friday, becoming the second pledge in Mizzou’s 2026 class and giving head coach Eli Drinkwitz and his staff momentum after a slow start to the cycle.

Missouri had previously lost two early commitments—D’Montae Tims and Anthony Kennedy Jr.—but Harris’ decision signals a positive turn. Harris, who also plays safety, brings both versatility and elite production to the Tigers’ future defensive plans. He now joins quarterback Gavin Sidwar as the foundational pieces of the 2026 class.

A top-tier talent in the state, Harris is regarded as one of Missouri’s best prospects. According to Rivals and 247Sports, he ranks among the top five players in the state for the 2026 class. His national recruiting profile is equally impressive, as he holds a four-star rating across multiple major recruiting outlets. Harris’s 247Composite score stands at 0.8951, while On3 gives him a rating of 89.17, and Rivals lists him as a 5.9 four-star recruit.

Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 220 pounds, Harris had a dominant junior season at SLUH. He totaled 108 tackles, including a staggering 26 tackles for loss, along with three interceptions, two sacks, and two fumble recoveries. His impact helped the Jr. Billikens finish the year with a 7-5 record. His performance earned him multiple postseason accolades, including second-team honors on the St. Louis Post-Dispatch All-Metro team and first-team All-State recognition from the St. Louis Metro Football Coaches Association.

Back in February, Harris released a Top 8 list of schools he was considering, featuring Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, Kansas State, Iowa, Oklahoma, and Oregon, in addition to Missouri. Ultimately, the Tigers came out on top, beating out some major programs from the Big Ten, SEC, and Big 12.

This commitment marks a big win for Drinkwitz and his recruiting staff, especially when considering the level of competition they faced. Harris held 33 total scholarship offers from top-tier programs, including Florida State, Arkansas, Ohio State, Kentucky, Michigan State, and others. Landing an in-state player of his caliber, especially one with national interest, strengthens Mizzou’s recruiting reputation and reaffirms their focus on keeping elite Missouri talent at home.

Harris brings a dynamic skill set to the defensive side of the ball. Known for his athleticism, speed, and instincts, he has the tools to be a difference-maker at the next level. Whether he lines up as a linebacker or drops into coverage as a hybrid safety, Harris offers versatility and physicality that will be highly valued in the Tigers’ defensive schemes.

With Harris now committed, Mizzou has a key piece to help build momentum for the rest of the 2026 class. His presence alone may help attract other recruits, especially in-state prospects who take note of local stars choosing to stay home.

As the Tigers continue to build their 2026 recruiting class, Harris represents a cornerstone commitment. His mix of production, potential, and leadership gives Mizzou a promising defensive playmaker to develop over the next few years. Fans will undoubtedly be watching closely as he prepares for his senior high school season and eventual transition to the SEC stage.

Welcome to Columbia, Keenan Harris — M-I-Z!
