The Seattle Mariners identified Reese as one of the top offensive talents available in this year’s draft. His combination of power, consistency, and ability to produce in key moments made him one of the most attractive bats in the draft class.

After graduating from Canton High School, Reese continued his baseball career at the University of Houston before making a move to Mississippi State University following his freshman season. His time at the collegiate level helped him develop into a more complete player and increased his visibility among professional scouts.

During his most recent season at Mississippi State, Reese delivered an impressive offensive campaign. He finished the year batting .336 while recording 24 home runs, 23 doubles, 74 runs batted in, and scoring 73 runs. His ability to hit for both power and average made him one of the most dangerous offensive players in college baseball.

Reese had also shown elite production the previous season, posting a .352 batting average with 21 home runs and 66 RBIs. His back-to-back seasons of strong performances proved that he could consistently compete against high-level pitching.

Before making his mark in college baseball, Reese was already dominating at Canton High School. During his senior season with the Canton Eagles, he posted remarkable numbers, hitting .477 with 42 hits and 40 RBIs. His junior year was equally impressive, as he recorded a .542 batting average with 43 hits and 43 RBIs.

Those incredible statistics helped establish Reese as one of the best young baseball players in the region and set the foundation for his future success.

Following the draft selection, Canton Independent School District released a statement celebrating Reese’s achievement and expressing pride in his accomplishments.

“His hard work and dedication have now earned him the opportunity to play professional baseball with the Mariners,” Canton ISD said. “Your Canton Eagle family is incredibly proud of everything you’ve accomplished. We can’t wait to watch your professional career unfold and will be cheering you on every step of the way.”

For Reese, being chosen in the first round represents the reward for years of commitment, preparation, and determination. His journey from Canton High School to college baseball and now professional baseball serves as an inspiration to young athletes hoping to reach the highest levels of competition.

With his powerful bat, competitive mindset, and proven track record, Reese enters the Seattle Mariners organization as one of the most exciting young prospects from the 2026 MLB Draft class. Mariners fans will now be watching closely as he begins the next chapter of his baseball career.
