Vilmael, who attends William B. Travis High School, is listed at 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds. He is considered one of the more promising defensive backs in the country, currently ranked as the No. 307 overall player in the 2027 class, the No. 35 cornerback nationally, and among the top 50 prospects in the state of Texas. His combination of size, athleticism, and physicality made him one of the more heavily recruited defensive backs in his class.
Before committing to Kansas State, Vilmael drew strong interest from several high-profile programs across the country. He had recently taken an official visit to North Carolina earlier in the month and was also scheduled to visit Florida State. A notable factor in Vilmael’s decision appears to be family ties already established within the Kansas State program. His brother, Josiah Vilmael, is part of the Wildcats’ 2026 recruiting class and is expected to join the program as a defensive back as well. On the field, Vilmael brings an impressive résumé from his high school career.
