On Tuesday, September 3, the Indiana Fever created history when they secured a postseason berth for the first time since 2016. Tuesday didn’t even see Caitlin Clark and company play, but the Chicago Sky and Atlanta Dream’s defeats guaranteed the Fever a postseason position.
Additionally, Indiana is now one of the hottest teams in the WNBA after going 6-1 since their return from the month-long Olympic break. When the Fever play the Los Angeles Sparks on Wednesday, September 4, they hope to make it seven points to one and five straight victories.
Prior to the match, Clark gave an honest assessment of her team’s recent success in an interview with the media. This isn’t really a party, in my opinion. Yes, it’s fantastic, and I think it’s a huge accomplishment, but there is still a ton of work to be done.” Clark acknowledged that, despite having six games left in the regular season, she is thrilled to have secured a playoff berth. She did, however, add that she is more than “just happy to be in the playoffs.
” Caitlin thinks there’s a good chance the Fever will win and make it further in the playoffs. She went on, “I believe that’s what it is for all of us.” Yes, rejoice and appreciate it. This organization will benefit much from it. It’s been a while since Tamika (Catchings) was here, and we haven’t made it to the playoffs.” Clark did not minimize the accomplishment since, as she stated, she is aware of how significant it is for the company. Nonetheless, she is well conscious that the work is far from finished.
